Staci Z-R is an American photographer currently based in the Midwest. With a focus in portraiture and a background in both studio and environmental photography, she is committed to telling authentic stories by blending retro aesthetics with personalized and innovative ways of imagemaking. With an editorial sensibility, she constructs immersive visual worlds while still leaving space for spontaneity and emotional truth. Her portraits show a sensitivity to subject that allows for their personality to shine. Memories, energy, and music drive her work and bring her photos to life. Often referred to as an old soul, Staci is influenced by the visual languages of the 1970s and 1990s.
With a combined 5+ years in portrait and studio photography, Staci is always on the lookout for new experiences and opportunities to expand her skill set.
She has worked on a variety of projects including The Moral Courage Project, a social justice and photojournalism initiative. In 2024 she was part of the Women of UD campaign where she photographed and assisted in the production of a campus-wide feature and publication for over 20 professionals. Staci’s personal work has been selected numerous times for publication, most notably for Orpheus Magazine.
