Seeing Songs & Hearing Pictures is an ongoing project that stems from a running list of images sparked by specific songs that I began at age 14. This work explores the relationship between image and sound in two ways. Seeing Songs captures what music looks like in its most literal form by focusing on the energy, movement, and atmosphere caused by the exchange between performer and audience. The parallel series, Hearing Pictures, consists of conceptual portraits and still lifes inspired by songs from my ever-growing list. Beyond illustrating lyrics alone, I interpret the emotional atmosphere, rhythm, and narrative to translate sound into light, color, and gesture. Through this process, I aim to illustrate not just how a song sounds, but how it feels. I invite viewers to bring their own memories, emotions, and interpretations to the images, blurring the lines between what is seen, heard, and felt.
